Let’s Go Fishing in February

Fishing & catching with Pure Naples has been fantastic year round. Throughout the summer months we reported some of the best grouper fishing that has been seen for many years in Southwest Florida.Florida Fish and Wildlife (F.W.C) has decided to not close grouper this year for February and March, with the exception of ‘gag grouper’. As the new year has come, so has colder water temperature and many different types of fish are now being caught. Our private charters are reporting catches of mangrove snappers, red grouper, gag grouper (to be released), lane snapper, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel and a good number of big sharks. All boats are doing well and the offshore bite has seen solid constant action. We just never know what might come from the depths of the reefs.

DSCN0485The backwater, calm bay fishing is strong with winter fish moving in. The month of February has some of the best sheep head fishing as they come in to spawn. There are many different types of fish to catch. Our Captains are reporting sheep head, spotted sea trout, mangrove snapper, pompano, black drum, red fish, crevalle jack, ladyfish and mackerel. Click here to view the Seasonal Catch Calendar on our website

Your chances for seeing wild life in their natural environment are very strong. A good numbers of dolphins are being seen from our fishing and sightseeing cruise boats and have been known to be curious and come up to our vessels. There are many great fishing spots back in the mangroves that have many different birds to see. This time of the year it is common to see American bald eagles, osprey, parrots, raccoons and key deer. Truly a great way to spend the day enjoying the wilderness of our beautiful Southwest Florida waterways and at the same time, have great family fun. Call us today to reserve your seats @ (888) 995-6959 or click here to reserve your seats online.
